The five engineers:Jack Mofenson, Harold D. Webb, John H. DeWitt, jr., E. King Stodola, Herbert Kauffman
THE MEN WHO SHOT THE MOON
KEY PERSONNEL
Jack DeWitt had a small paid staff of professional engineers (Stodola, Mofenson, Webb, and Kauffman) who worked together day in, day out, to carry out the Project. The mathematician Walter S. McAfee was a consultant from another unit but made such a major contribution to the successful outcome of the Project that he fully merits inclusion on the list of key personnel. The extent to which Edwin Howard Armstrong had real-time input into the project is not known, but as the original designer of the equipment that formed the basis for the transmitter and receiver used by the Project, and as the hero of engineers everywhere, he too deserves a place on the list.

HONORABLE MENTION
Many other Camp Evans staff—often working off the clock for sheer love of the Project and the honor of being part of it—made critical contributions to this effort. Scientific expertise, equipment, and hands-on know-how from many other fields were needed, sought, and gratefully acknowledged. Although Herbert Kauffman declared that "So many have been associated with the "Diana" project that it is impossible to name [them] all," here is a list of known contributors:
